Quick and Simple

I went to a local retirement home and gave some of the lovely ladies there a Christmas Card class.  We made two cards, which were fairly simple, but involved some techniques that were new to some of the ladies.  I think they all enjoyed themselves; I even had my oldest customer - a 100 year old lady!  She did a great job and her cards looked lovely.
This card was CASE'd  (Copy and Share Everything) from the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  It was the first time the ladies had seen the Big Shot in action!  It was also the first time they had used our Blender Pens.  Excuse the smudged bit!

Here was the second card - some ladies used the Santa stamp instead of the reindeer.

This one used the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and matching punch.
I'm sure that children would enjoy making these cards, as much as my sweet old ladies did!

Your Christmas Gift Problems Solved.

You know how it is.  Busy day, just enough time to rush home after work, get changed, and get to the dinner party/Christmas lunch/restaurant.  You grab a bottle of wine to give the host as you leave (or on the way) but it looks so.....naked.  And the brown paper bag it came in isn't very classy.
I'm here to save the day!
Here are some handy tags I've made which were designed to go over the neck of a bottle of wine.
The wine bottles are dressed up to party with a pretty tag made with the Here's to Cheers bundle.
Make a few of these fancy looking tags ahead of time, with some twine or ribbon, and some of the 6" x 17" Gusseted Cellophane Bags and put them somewhere handy so you can grab them on your way out the door.
See?  The Gusseted Cellophane bag is a perfect fit for a wine bottle.

The gusted bags are also food safe - perfect for packaging your Christmas baking!

Problem solved - you're welcome!

I'm back!

Hello lovelies!  I'm sorry I've been slack at keeping up the blog lately - just been busy with real-life stuff.  I've also just spent the past three days at a Stampin' Up! On Stage Live event here in Brisbane with some of the ladies on my team.  So much fun!
I'm not allowed to show any of the cool projects made with gorgeous new products from the 2017 Sale a Bration and Occasions Catalogue yet, so I'll be good.  I can show you some photos of people having a great time, like these:
Main photo:  My downlines Michelle, Maree and myself; clockwise:  On Stage, Claire from Demo Support and me having a cuddle (we do this each time we see each other at events, she's such a sweetheart!),  a sign pointing the way to various fun activities (more on those later); Maree and Jan, Wendy, Michelle, Jan and Maree; Bec and Jan.
We each got a copy of the next Sale a Bration and Occasions Catalogues (I love them!  Shocker, I know, LOL), got to play with new products, and watched presentations showing inspiring ways to use  the new products, and some different techniques we might not have tried.  In addition we had helpful training on how to run our businesses and be a better Demonstrator.
The best part is always catching up with other Demonstrators from all over Australia/New Zealand, and even some from the UK, Canada, the United States and Europe.  Many Demonstrators participate in swaps with each other (a swap is a sample card or card front with your contact info and what you used to make the card typed on the back), which is a great way to meet people and get ideas for classes, etc.  It's another way Demonstrators share with each other.
If you'd like to be part of the fun, and join the Stampin' Up! family, let me know.  I'd love you to join my team!  Stampers are the nicest people.

Holiday Mini Class - what you missed.

I had some lovely ladies over recently to play with some of the new products in the new Holiday mini Catalogue.  We had a lot of fun getting our Christmas on!
The first card was a fairly simple one using the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set and the matching Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  I am going to be using this set a lot.  So fun, and such cute images!  My photo is a little blurry unfortunately, but you can see  that I used a simple colour palette of Crumb Cake  cardstock and Chocolate Chip ink, except for Rudolph's nose, which was coloured using a Real Red marker.  The Baker's Twine is new too - you probably can't tell from this photo, but the red is shiny.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set + Cookie Cutter Builder Punch + Crumb Cake A4 cardstock + Chocolate Chip Ink + Real Red Marker + Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine
We also made a simple mini treat holder (mine held a fun sized box of Smarties, but almost any mini treat would do) which is easy to whip up from a spare scrap of DSP.  Cut it 2 inches wide, and long enough to wrap around your treat.  Using the Tag Topper Punch, make a matching hole at each end of the paper, thread some ribbon or Baker's Twine through and you have a simple treat holder.  If you are worried about your treat sliding out, just secure it with a glue dot.  Decorate it with a cute reindeer and you have a simple gift easy enough to make in bulk for your child's entire class.  You can see I cut out a ½" circle of leftover retired red foil cardstock for Rudolf's nose this time.

Tag Topper Punch, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set, Blender Pen, Soft Suede ink, Memento Black Ink, Candy Cane Lane DSP, Emerald Envy ribbon

Finally, we used the Seasonal Decorative Masks, ink and a brayer to create a lovely background on plain white cardstock.  Each of us used a different stencil, and I love the results!  TOP TIP:  use masking tape to keep the stencil in place while using the brayer.  The new foam brayer works beautifully with the newer foam ink pads.

The main panel would make a lovely bookmark - a gift AND a card.  I shall have to remember that idea for my Bookclub at the end of the year.  The sentiment is from Jar of Cheer and the jolly old gentleman is of course Santa from Jolly Friends.  I chose not to add a hat to him because I had't left enough space, but the other ladies did, and their cards looked great.  The addition of some sweet tiny jingle bells finished off the card beautifully.

Jolly Friends, Mini Jingle Bells, Emerald Envy ink, Emerald Envy cardstock, Seasonal Decorative Masks, Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, Blushing Bride ink, So Saffron ink, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Cherry Cobbler ink, Triple Banner Punch, Tag Topper Punch, gold baker's twine.

You can see here the different cards made - they all look great, and each is unique.

Here's everything used to make the cards and Mini Treat bag shown above.  Make sure to click the Follow Me on Facebook button over on the right -----> because I find it easy to quickly post something there more often than I find time to blog these days.

Getting closer....

It's nearly that time of year, where the retirement list comes out.  That means the in-colours we've loved the past 2 years are leav...
